Working with reuse leather

Join the Dublin Leather Store on Saturday the 30th of November for a unique workshop using offcuts of leather.

Kasper will work with students to create some beautiful and practical items. Students are encouraged to make as many items as possible within the allocated time, and to even bring in their own scrap leather or old leather jackets if they can. The focus is on using as much of this discarded leather as possible. Some examples of the projects are:

  • Simple tote or buckets bags
    • Simple card wallets or sleeves
    • Glasses Cases
    • Book covers
    • Key chains and coasters

The leather for this workshops are sourced from:

  • Upholsterers’ offcuts destined for the bin
    • Scraps and offcuts from local harness maker
    • Vintage leather jackets from charity shops and clothes shops (they were going to be thrown out)
    • Offcuts and scraps from manufacturing at Dublin Leather Store
    • Old leather sofa upholstery
