October 2018 is national Reuse Month where we all find new ways to reuse, repurpose and reimagine everyday items and materials that would otherwise go to waste. As part of this initiative, why not find a new way to reduce waste by getting into upcycling. To give you some inspiration, the Regional Waste Management offices met with three people who have turned upcycling from a creative hobby into a passion, or in some cases a successful business. But what is upcycling?
Upcycling involves transforming an unwanted or discarded item into something new, useful and often beautiful. Upcycling can be used to create new products of any kind, including homeware, furniture and fashion. So, let’s meet our upcyclers.
